What is a Cinquain poem?
It is a poem that makes use of the five-line pattern.
It is a collection of vocabulary of all parts of speech.
There are three patterns in making a cinquain poem Let us learn two patterns out of them.
Pattern-1
Line-1 – One word
Line-2 – Two words
Line-3 – Three words
Line-4 – Four words
Line-5 – One word
Pattern-1
Line 1 – One word – Noun – Ice cream
Line-2 – Two words- Adjectives- Cool, Creamy
Line-3 – Three words- Action words- eating, squeezing, licking
Line-4 – Four words- Make me feel happy
Line-5 – One word- Ice cream

Let us take one more example
Line-1 – One word – Noun – Spider
Line-2 – Two words- Adjectives- Fast and Small
Line-3 – Three words- Action words- Jumping, hunting, spinning
Line-4 – Four words- Eight-legged wonderful creature
Line-5 – One word- Spiders

Line-1 – Noun
Line-2 – Two adjectives
Line-3 – Three doing words
Line-4 – Another phrase for the noun
Line-5 – Another word for the Noun
Pattern-2
Line -1 – Noun- Parrot
Line-2 – Two adjectives- Green and Beautiful
Line-3 – Three doing words- Flying, Chirping, Flattering
Line-4 – Another phrase for noun- All Parrot’s chirp on the trees
