What are Idioms?

Idioms are phrases that speakers use in everyday language. They do not make sense literally but add value to our speech.

Why do we use Idioms?

  • Idioms can imply communication through a message in a way that gains interest in  readers  to arouse their senses.
  • Idioms should be used in simple situations.
  • Idioms enrich our speaking and upgrade vocabulary.
  • The convention and the vocabulary of the idioms are stable, and if we change them, we lose the meaning of the idiom.

What are Idiomatic Expressions:

Idiomatic Expressions are used to communicate or convey a feeling or emotion.

Some of the expressions are naughty and emotional

Why use them yourself ?

Idioms add humor and spirit to language. Without idioms, language can be used, but they will be less in humor approach.

Usage of idioms in speech and writing will help one achieve a higher level of mastery and fluency in the language.
