Plural Nouns
Noun:
- A noun is a naming word that specifies the name of any person, place, thing, or idea.
- Nouns can sometimes be singular, and sometimes they can be plural.
PLURAL NOUN:
- In general, we form plural nouns by adding the letter “S” to the end of the noun.
- E.g.:
- Cat- Cats,
- Dog-Dogs,
- Egg- Eggs,
- Pet- Pets
- E.g.:
- We add the letters “ES” to the nouns, which ends in ‘s’, ‘ch’, ‘sh’, ‘x’, ‘z’.
- E.g.:
- Beach- Beaches
- Wish- Wishes
- Waltz- Waltzes
- Fox- Foxes
- E.g.:
- When a noun ends with “F”, or “FE”, we remove the F or FE part and add “VES” to the end.
- E.g.:
- Knife- Knives
- Leaf- Leaves
- Wife- Wives
- E.g.:
- When a noun ends with a vowel and “Y” at the end, we add “S” in the word while making it plural.
- E.g.:
- Birthday- Birthdays
- Valley- Valleys
- Chimney- Chimneys
