 Key Concepts

  1. Temperature
  2. Scales in which temperature is measured
  3. Relation between the scales of temperature

biosphereExplanation

Temperature

The degree of hotness or the coldness of a body is called temperature. Temperature is denoted by the letter ‘T’.

Temperature is measured using the device thermometer.

With the increase in the temperature, the kinetic energy in a body increases; hence we can say the temperature is proportional to the kinetic energy.

Scales of temperature:

Temperature can be measured on three scales:

  1. Celsius scale
  1. Fahrenheit scale
  1. Kelvin scale

Important scales to remember:

  1. Celsius scale is measured from the value 0 °c to 100 °c.
  1. Fahrenheit is measured from the value 32 °F to 212 °F.
  1. Kelvin scale is measured from the value -373 K to +373 K.

Relation between the scales of temperature

Relation between Celsius and Fahrenheit scale:

parallel

(Where L.P = Lower point, H.P = Higher Point on the scale)

Relation between Celsius and kelvin scale:

K = C + 273

5 Types Of Mechanical Layers Of The Earth

Composition Layer of the Earth When we are studying the layers of the Earth, it can be divided into two ways. One is by how they move, which is the mechanical layers. The other is by what they are made of. This second way involves the composition of layers of the Earth. Based on the […]

Electrical Components and Symbols Explained with Diagrams

What Are Electrical Components? Consider the electrical components as the building blocks of any circuit. These are the actual components that cause electricity to do what you want it to do. Every switch you flip, every fan that spins, every charger that doesn’t overheat relies on these small parts doing their job quietly. You rarely […]
